Operation Bling To Host Wine-Tasting Fundraiser Friday

Group brings joy to oncology patients by delivering sparkly baubles right to their hospital beds,

a non-profit founded by Morris Township resident Christine Ferdinand, has an important fundraising event scheduled for Friday. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Who:  The event is to benefit the Operation Bling Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit whose mission is to give sparkling, morale-boosting jewels–for free–to cancer patients during their hospital stays. In the three years since its founding, it has provided over 7,000 "Bling Gifts" of cubic zirconium and sterling silver jewelry.
  2. What: A tasting with over 100 wines hosted by Midtown Wine Merchant in Morristown. Enjoy endless appetizers provided by Cafe Beethoven in Chatham and a performance by "Flutatious!," a four piece flute ensemble. There will be free door prizes and "Bling Gifts" for sale.
  3. When:  Friday evening, June 3rd, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm
  4.  Where:  55 Bank Street, Morristown, 1 block south of The Green. (the former McDonald Pontiac dealership)
  5.  How Much? Tickets are $45.00 in advance or $55.00 at the door. Purchase them at:

  • Midtown Wine Merchants in Morristown, NJ
  • Cafe Beethoven in Chatham, NJ
  • Online at www.operationbling.org. To pay for the tickets on the donation page, mark "Wine Event" in place of "in Honor Of." Operation Bling  will mail the tickets or, if it's too close to the event, they will be held for you at the door. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the evening of the event.
