Some of our most active members are having a hard time with housing. Some of us live in cars or stay with friends and family because we can't afford rent. We do this work anyway because it is important and we need it to survive. We need you as well.

We are Mutual Morris, a mutual aid group in Morris County, New Jersey. Mutual aid is a culture of all people in a community taking voluntary responsibility for our collective health and well-being by protecting each other, sharing with each other, teaching each other, and practicing new ways of life together that don't lead to poverty and homelessness and other crises.

It is not charity; we are not a non-profit external to the community, but the community itself, led by the people impacted by the harms of the system we live in. We are part of wider networks of mutual aid groups in NJ and beyond, as well as regional and national emergency preparedness, ham radio, and disaster relief networks. We are always learning and growing toward community-powered local abundance and collective self-sufficiency and autonomy.
