Bossy Frog Band Hops to Bergen Community College
Band to perform in Paramus on Saturday

The Bossy Frog Band, an interactive musical experience for children, is scheduled to perform at on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The band, which has been performing for more than 10 years, features a banjo, a hula-hooping fiddler, a giant dancing frog, a juggler and a singing bass player. The band's goal is to get children dancing and moving. The band’s website provides a fitting disclaimer: “WARNING: Children May Smile for Days After a Bossy Frog Band Show!”
According to Jeffrey Friedberg, founder of The Bossy Frog Band, the group performs at more than 250 shows a year for children from the ages of 2 to 8 in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Friedberg’s group combines bluegrass, rock, reggae, country and folk music.

Friedberg's career began as a music therapist for children and adults.
“I know kids like songs that are interactive so I decided to write a song like that,” Friedberg said. “Kids like frogs and fairy tales. If you have a frog that tells kids what to do, he’s bossy. Kids loves the songs and they call me the Bossy Frog.”

“We are a remarkably entertaining fun bunch of people,” Friedberg said.
Now, The Bossy Frog is Friedberg’s full-time job. The group performs at concerts, libraries, summer camps and farmer’s markets, among other venues.
“It’s a general super fun show that will get the kids dancing,” Friedberg said. “Frogs, nature, animals and transportation. It’s our goal to get everyone involved with the music and dancing along with the song and having a great time.”
