4 Arrested On Drugs, Warrants, Hindering In New Providence

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — New Providence Police report making four arrests recently on charges of marijuana possession, warrants and hindering apprehension.
New Providence Police blotter:
On Aug. 6: Cpl. Andrew Diamond arrested Varun Sharma, 37, of Weehawken for possession marijuana 50 grams or less and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Rd. Sharma was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

On Aug. 12: Sgt. Donald Sretenovic arrested Thomas Yong, 28, of New Providence on two active warrants out of New Providence. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Timothy Field Rd. Bail was posted and Yong was released pending a future court appearance.
On Aug. 13: Patrolman Andrew Lynch arrested Jorge Bohorquez-Jara, 26, of Elizabeth for hindering
apprehension/providing false info to a law enforcement officer. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle
stop on Mountain Avenue. Bohorquez-Jara was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

On Aug. 17: Cpl. Andrew Diamond arrested Michael Wilson, 65, of Sewell for possession of marijuana 50 grams or less. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Martins Lane. Wilson was processed and released pending a future court appearance.
