DWI, Drug Possession, Warrant Arrests Made In New Providence

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — New Providence Police reported making four arrests on charges of driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession and outstanding warrant recently.

On Oct. 23: Patrolman Nicholas Guerriero arrested Gene Levell, 45, of Newark on an active warrant out of New Providence. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Union Ave. Levell was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

On Nov. 5: Patrolman Jeffrey Bruder arrested Sean Fornes, 37, of Elizabeth for possession of marijuana 50 grams or less, possession of controlled dangerous substance(CDS) in a motor vehicle and driving while suspended. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Mountain Ave. Fornes was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

On Nov. 5: Patrolman Christian Cely arrested John Currie, 20, of New Providence for possession of marijuana 50 grams or less and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Glenside Rd. Currie was processed and released pending a future court appearance.
