Ex-Star North Jersey QB Indicted On Rape Charges
Kevin Olsen allegedly punched and raped a woman he was dating after threatening to kill himself and arguing with her.

A North Carolina grand jury indicted former Wayne Hills High School star quarterback Kevin Olsen on three counts of second-degree rape Monday.
Olsen was also indicted on two counts of assault on a female and one count of second-degree sexual offense, said Meghan McDonald, community liaison coordinator for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office.
The indictment stems from charges filed against Olsen in February after he allegedly attacked a 23-year-old woman he was dating after going out with her Feb. 18.

The alleged rape occurred at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 19 at Olsen's apartment near the UNC Charlotte campus, authorities said. Olsen argued with the woman, punched her in the face and assaulted her three times, The Charlotte Observer previously reported. Olsen reportedly threatened to strangle himself with a phone charger before assaulting the woman.
The woman had scratches and vaginal bruises early the next morning when she went to hospital, a police report on the incident states.

Olsen could be sentenced to 30 years in prison on the three rape charges alone if convicted.
Olsen is the younger brother of Carolina Panthers' All-Pro tight end Greg Olsen.
The younger Olsen was one of the top-rated high school quarterbacks in the country when he declared for the University of Miami. He bounced around colleges until winding up at UNC Charlotte, but he has been suspended from the team.
Superior Court Judge Paige B. McThenia granted a restraining order against Olsen in March. He must stay away from the woman's home and work. Olsen is also prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm.
Olsen remains free on $103,000 bond.
Olsen's legal troubles date back to Wayne Hills when he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he smashed his car into two vehicles and a tree in Wayne May 25, 2013. A police report on the incident stated that Olsen’s face appeared to have blood on it and that he “appeared to be under the influence of something.”
He was dismissed from Miami for violating team rules and never threw a pass for the Hurricanes.
Olsen went to Townson University in Maryland but left due to disciplinary problems. He ended last year as the backup quarterback at UNC Charlotte, but is not listed on the team's spring roster.
