Woman Arrested After Rottweiler Stopped Eviction: Parsippany Police

The dog lunged or snapped at two officers, police said.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Fairfield woman was arrested after police say her Rottweiler prevented her eviction from a local hotel, Parsippany police said.

Officers were called to the Route 46 Red Roof Inn on Wednesday, after managers said Jessica Rosewall, 30, refused to leave her room. Managers told Rosewall the day before she was no longer allowed in the hotel or on the property, but she did not leave.

Rosewall had a leashed Rottweiler, and refused to put it in the cage despite requests by police. While officers were helping Rosewall pack up, the dog snapped at an officers hand, police said. The dog lunged at another responding officer; neither were injured.

According to police, Rosewall still refused to crate the dog, placing the dog between her and the officers. Animal Control was called to the scene and secured the dog, police said.

Rosewall was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where she was charged with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and obstruction of administration of law. She was released on her own recognizance and was told she could pick the dog up at the Parsippany Animal Shelter.
