Princeton University Named Best College In U.S.: New Ranking
What will come as no surprise Princeton University was named as the top-ranked school in the country: U.S. News & World Report.
PRINCETON, NJ — What will come as no surprise Princeton University was named as the top-ranked school in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2020 best colleges list released Monday.
Founded in 1746 Princeton has a total undergraduate enrollment of 5,428 and tuition and fees are $51,870 for the 2019-20, according to U.S. News & World Report.
"Princeton includes highly ranked graduate programs through the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and School of Engineering and Applied Science. One unique aspect of Princeton's academic program is that undergraduate students are required to write a senior thesis, or for students in some engineering departments, take on an independent project," U.S. News & World Report wrote.

Notable alumni include U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, model/actress Brooke Shields and former first lady Michelle Obama.
The 2020 rankings include the overall best national universities rankings, as well as rankings for the best liberal-arts colleges, the top public schools, the best value schools and more.

For the 2020 rankings, U.S. News & World Report made some changes to help prospective students with their college search. A new set of rankings looks at the top performers in social mobility, evaluating which schools best serve underrepresented students. The 2020 methodology also factors in which schools support first-generation college students through graduation.
Princeton also recently ranked as the third best college for your money in the U.S. by MONEY Magazine and also fifth best college in the U.S., according to Forbes Magazine's new list.
