Student Charged In Mercer Co. After Threat Made On Social Media
This is the second incident in two days at the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ – Another student from West Windsor High School South was charged with creating false public alarm after posting a threat on social media Monday, police said.

On Monday, the school district and West Windsor police conducted a joint investigation into a separate social media threat/post.

The threat was deemed non-credible and a student was charged for creating false public alarm pending a future appearance at the Mercer County Juvenile Court, police said.
Although the threat was found to be non-credible, the investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.

Police Chief Robert Garofalo and Superintendent David Aderhold have assured the school community of the safety of students and staff. "We will act swiftly and will take immediate action whenever a threat or perceived threat has been reported,” police said.
Anyone with knowledge of such posts/threats should contact the local police agency.
New Jersey has seen a rise in the number of social media threats made to local schools recently.
St. Rose of Lima School in Freehold closed on Monday out of an "abundance of caution," to investigate a social media post made over the weekend.
In Moorestown police said a student made threats against William Allen Middle School.
Police also responded to a threat made to a school in Caldwell.
