Woman arrested on DUI charge in Scotch Plains (newportdispatch.com) — Scotch Plains police report a Plainfield woman was charged with DUI after hitting a patrol vehicle during a local traffic stop, and detail several other recent incidents in town. Residents reported jewelry theft, shoplifting at Route 22 and other businesses, and two fraud cases, including a $14,000 altered check and a $3,100 social‑media family impersonation scam.
   

4. Union Catholic's Performing Arts Company Announces 2026-27 Season (tapinto.net) — Scotch Plains' Union Catholic Performing Arts Company has unveiled its 2026–27 season, opening with Pride and Prejudice in early November, followed by a January Cabaret Night and a spring production of Come From Away. Local families with students at Union Catholic can already mark performance dates and sign up for auditions or tech crew to get involved.
   

5. Unipn Catholic Volleyball Squad Beats Cranford in 3 Sets (tapinto.net) — Union Catholic's girls volleyball team in Scotch Plains improved to 5–2 after edging Cranford in a tight three‑set home match, powered by a standout 23‑kill performance from Ayla Burke. Several teammates contributed big numbers in assists, aces, and kills as the Vikings rallied after dropping the second set to secure the win.
