NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Last fall, we told you a Lidl grocery store was going to open at the North Brunswick Shopping Center, in the location of the former A&P at 500 Milltown Road.

And now that Lidl is scheduled to open next Wednesday, July 29.

The store will open at 8 a.m. after a brief ribbon cutting at 7:40 a.m. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Sunday. The first 100 customers next Wednesday will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each. Shoppers can also be entered to win a $500 Lidl gift card, as well as take advantage of special giveaways.

“Lidl is a highly desirable and welcome addition to North Brunswick, and especially welcome in our oldest section of town where an affordable grocery store has been highly sought by our seniors and many others,” said North Brunswick Mayor Francis “Mac” Womack.

"Our senior citizens have missed the opportunity to walk to a local grocery store," Womack said last year.
