Emotions may be running hot after Donald Trump's presidential win, but hatred has no place at Columbia High School.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Emotions may be running hot after Donald Trump’s presidential win, but hatred has no place at Columbia High School.
As reports of violent and racist displays emerge across the nation in the wake of Trump’s victory, students at the Maplewood school left messages of peace written in chalk outside their building on Monday.

Other Essex County schools have expressed a similar message of post-election kindness and understanding.
West Orange Superintendent Jeffrey Rutzky recently issued a reminder for the district’s students – and parents – to remain respectful of each other, especially during the current times when emotions are running high involving the presidential election.
