Local officials say the money will bolster the health department's workforce, emergency response, disease control, and other essential services overseen by the Board of Health.

Newark Daily Buzz: Sep. 24, 2026 (jerseybee.org) — South Orange neighbors can head to Irvington Avenue on October 2 for the Seton Village Food Truck Festival, bringing an evening of food vendors and community fun. The broader roundup also highlights nearby events in Newark, Maplewood, and other Essex County towns, from legal clinics and cleanups to fundraisers and tours.
