• Springfield Plans Tennis Court Project, Road Improvements and Fall Tree Planting (tapinto.net) — Springfield is moving ahead with tennis court upgrades and a slate of road projects, including work on Colfax Road, Henshaw Avenue, Hilltop Road, and sidewalks and ramps on Linden and Wabeno. The township is also coordinating crosswalk striping with Union County and planting 50 more trees through a grant, bringing this year's total to about 100 new trees.

• NJIB's Guide to 15+ New Jersey October Street Fairs 2026 (newjerseyisntboring.com) — Springfield residents can look forward to the Annual Fall Festival & Car Show on October 18 along Mountain Avenue, featuring free admission, food trucks, vendors, live music, and a beer garden. Families will find pony rides, a petting zoo, a trackless train, an inflatable kids zone, and a pumpkin patch, plus a car show with exotic and classic vehicles and on-site registration.
