Power Outages Rise To 25,000 In Union County

Breaking: More than 25,000 Union County residents are without power as of 7:25 p.m. Wednesday due to downed trees and wires.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — More than 25,000 Union County residents are without power as of 7:25 p.m. Wednesday due to downed trees and wires.

JCP&L reports 11395 are without power in the county with the most in Springfield with 5,016 followed by New Providence with 2,222.

Estimated restoration could be as late as 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

"Our crews are reporting that conditions are worsening as today's storm moves through. Roads are difficult to navigate with limited visibility. This can hamper restoration efforts," JCP&L reported.

PSE&G is reporting a total of 12,821 county customers without power with the most in Union with 4,428 followed by Westfield with 1,914.
