Gofundme For Summit Family Left Homeless After Fire
The Weaver Street couple lived in the home with their niece and nephew.

SUMMIT, NJ — A family burned out of their home on Weaver Street Thursday night is now homeless, and a local resident has started a Gofundme to help. According to the page, Martha and Pedro Ramirez, who have lived in Summit for 40 years, were left homeless after the Dec. 26 blaze, as were their niece and nephew (Michael and Samantha Uribe) who were living with them.
Firefighters told Patch earlier today that during the fire, two people had to jump out of the windows of the home at 20 Weaver St., and were hospitalized.
Martha works for Allstate Insurance and the Center Court Club in Chatham. Pedro suffered a brain aneurysm a few years ago and is unable to work, according to the page. Both are parishioners of St. Teresa's of Avila Catholic Church.
