All-Clear At Fairleigh Dickinson University After Monday Lockdown

Following an hour-long lockdown, the school tweeted around 12 p.m. Monday that police had given the all-clear at the campus.

TEANECK, NJ — Fairleigh Dickinson University was locked down for around an hour Monday following a report of a person with a weapon in Metropolitan Campus's North Parking Lot, the school said in an alert on X, formerly known as Twitter. In an initial tweet at 11 a.m., everyone on campus was told to remain indoors and clear of windows while police investigate.

"If you are not on campus, do not come to campus until notified," the university wrote in an update just before 11:30 a.m.

At around 12 p.m., the school tweeted that police had given the all-clear at the campus and that normal activities could resume.

"Police will continue to patrol the campus," the post said.
