Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps Fundraising Gala This Weekend

The second annual fundraising Gala event for the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps (TVAC) is being held at the Glenpointe Marriott on February 18, 2012.

The event, previously held in March of 2011, helps to fundraise, and raise awareness, for Teaneck’s ambulance corps service. The Gala, planned with a “roaring ‘20s” theme, will include food, entertainment, and raffle prizes.

The night’s food will be catered exclusively by Main Event. The entertainment will include Jeff Dunston, Singer and Impressionist, as well as jazz music from the Joe Sharone Trio. Additionally, Davis, Saperstein, and Solomon P.C. and The Marriott at Glenpointe have already agreed to become Gold Sponsors, which involves a full-page advertisement, admission for 10 guests, and other rewards.

Teaneck’s ambulance corps, which is the sole provider of ambulance service in the township, functions as a 100% volunteer organization. The organization runs 24/7, operating solely on donations. The corps’ active membership, totaling over 100, responds to over 4,000 emergency calls annually without receiving any benefits or allowances in return.

Donated funds mainly come from the township’s residents, but unfortunate economic woes have contributed to declining contributions over the last several years. A portion of the proceeds from the Gala’s admission price and raffle prizes will be directly donated to the non-profit ambulance corps.

Admission will be $75 per person and $650 when purchased for a table of 10, and each person’s ticket includes one raffle ticket for the Grand Prize. Raffle tickets will be $10 each, with three tickets for $25.
