UPDATE: Ocean County Mall Bomb Threat Appears To Be Hoax
Police K-9 units searched the mall but scanner reports indicated nothing was found.
UPDATE, 11:30 p.m.: Scanner traffic indicated that the search for a bomb at Ocean County Mall had turned up nothing and the search was called off around 10:45 p.m.
Police K-9 units from Toms River and surrounding law enforcement agencies were brought in to search the 800,000-plus-square-foot mall, but the scanner traffic indicated that employees were being allowed back in to secure stores as of about 11 p.m.
EARLIER: The Ocean County Mall in Toms River was evacuated Wednesday after police received a report of a bomb threat, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Facebook page.

Police arrived at the mall located on 1201 Hooper Avenue in Toms River around 7:30 p.m. to investigate the threat, and the entire mall was evacuated. No injuries have been reported, according to NBC10.
Police plan to reveal more details when the investigation is complete, according to the report.

The threat was made just as police in Plainsboro were dealing with a hospital that was placed on lock down, which followed a report of “suspicious activity,” according to nj.com.
That call came in around 5 p.m., but was unfounded, the report said.
