Westfield's Edison School Placed In Lockdown Following Call
A concerning phone call made to police in the area of Edison School prompted a brief lockdown Wednesday afternoon, school officials report.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield's Edison Intermediate School was placed in a brief lockdown following a concerning phone call Wednesday afternoon.
Westfield Police reported receiving a concerning phone call from a cell phone in the vicinity of Edison School during the afternoon hours, according to Mary Ann McGann, spokeswoman with the Westfield School District.
The school went into a brief lockdown while the police investigated the situation. Police determined the call was a prank and students resumed their normal schedule.

"At no time was there a threat made against Edison School,” said McGann.
