14-Yr-Old Concert Pianist Performs at St. John's

Brielle Dulce Perez, 14 years old, has joined the lineup for St. John's 6th Annual Arts Festival

14-year-old protégé concert pianist Brielle Dulce Perez will appear in the 2015 St. John’s Arts Festival held at St. John’s Church in Hillsdale, NJ on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 6:30pm. Admission is free for this event.

Miss Perez has performed as soloist, chamber musician and featured soloist with orchestras in music capitals around the world including Berlin, Vienna, Moscow, Dresden, Leipzig, Warsaw and in Luxembourg. Already she has performed more than fifteen times at the world-famous Carnegie Hall in the Weill Recital Hall. This summer she has been invited back to perform at the Chopin International Festival in Poland, where she will play works of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Scriabin.

She has won top Prizes and scholarships in National and International competitions such as: the New York International Music Competition and Showcase Competitions, the National League of Performing Arts-Young Virtuosi Competition, the Golden Key Music Festival-Debut International Competition, the Forte International Music Competition, the Concert Festival Concerto Competition, the American Protégé Piano & Strings Competition, the New Jersey Music Teachers Association, the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra, the American Association for The Development of the Gifted and Talented, the American Protégé Concerto Competition, the Chopin International Competition of Hartford Connecticut, the Crescendo International Little Mozarts Competition, the Prima International Competition, the Steinway Society of Princeton, the Young Pianists Concerto Competition of New Jersey, and The XIII New York Music Competition.

Miss Perez’ current piano teacher is Mr. Eduardus Halim, who is the chairman of the piano department of New York University. Mr. Halim was the last student of the famous pianist Vladimir Horowitz before his passing in 1989. She is a former student of The Palisades School of Music in Ft. Lee, where she has studied piano since the age of five, and currently is student at River Dell Middle School. Brielle Perez has a deep love for classical music and aspires to become a concert pianist and a piano teacher. The St. John’s Arts Festival, now in its sixth season and held at lavishly beautiful 1,200 seat St. John the Baptist’s Church in Hillsdale, is the vision of present pastor Rev. John Korbelak. The St. John’s Arts Festival offers a wide variety of visual art and music. Included in the weekend is a Fine Art gallery of two- and three-dimensional work from local artists in all. Music offerings this year include a wide range of works performed by the following: on Sat., June 13 at 2:30pm the renowned Glukh-Petrides Duo, trumpet-organ-piano-soprano, performing Torelli, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, jazz and Argentinean tangos; on Sat., June 13 at 8pm, a Opera & Broadway Gala of masterworks featuring leading American opera singers; on Sun., June 14 at 2pm flamenco-blues guitarist Tony Rivera, performing traditional flamenco classics, contemporary sacred music, as well as music by Train, Crosby Stills and Nash, and Zeppelin with Guest Singers Mary Kate Buckman, Jillian Turner and Lisa Gordon. All of these incredible events are free of charge.
