Ramsey, NJ – June 10, 2013 – The Shannon Rose Irish Pub’s menu has some delicious new additions. Ranging from twists on old Irish favorites to fresh new dishes, the Pub is the fun place to eat and drink this summer. Come for lunch or dinner and stay to enjoy the Irish music, the DJs, and the live bands.

A refreshing salad option for the summer is the new Fresh Berry & Bleu Cheese Salad featuring fresh spinach tossed with blueberry vinaigrette and topped with organic blueberries, strawberries, crumbled bleu cheese, walnuts, and red onions. It is available with or without chicken and joins other healthy salad options on the menu. For a healthier sandwich selection, the Pub is offering two new items: the Oven-roasted Turkey Sandwich includes fresh spinach, Swiss cheese, and cranberry mustard sauce, served on soft whole wheat bread; and a portabella & goat cheese grilled sandwich with a grilled, marinated portabella mushroom topped with goat cheese and pesto sauce, served on grilled whole wheat bread.
A staple in the pubs of Ireland, the Pub is excited to serve its new Curry Suipéar dish, sautéed chicken in a mildly spicy coconut milk curry served over jasmine rice and vegetables. The dish is also available vegetarian style or with shrimp.
Our specialty tater tots, a new “pub grub” option, have been added to the menu, so any of the specialty fries such as Dublin, disco or chili, can now be made with tots. Don’t forget to try the unique bar food option, the new potato croquettes. It’s a delicious combination of mashed potatoes, Irish cheddar, rashers and chives fried to perfection with a side of horseradish cream dipping sauce.
There are several new Center Plate entrées, including Bell & Evans Free Range Chicken, pan-roasted and topped with garlic whiskey sauce, mushrooms, and onions and served with rosemary mashed potatoes, pan-roasted brussel sprouts, and caramelized onions. “Dining out can be fun and good for you,” said Guy Dupont, manager of the Clifton Shannon Rose Irish Pub, “we’re very excited about adding Bell & Evan Free Range Chicken to our menu. These organic, free range chickens are healthier-- raised and processed as humanely as possible and fed a vegetable-only, antibiotic-free diet.”
Other new entrées include the new Shannon Rose Signature Hanger Steak; an 8-oz. marinated hanger steak, grilled to desired temperature, with sautéed shallots and drizzled with Black Forrest sauce and served with fingerling potatoes and sautéed spinach. The Grilled Salmon, another healthy new entrée, is seasoned with Old Bay and served with fingerling potatoes and sautéed garlic spinach.
New sandwiches include the unique Curry Chicken Salad Wrap with chopped chicken, onions, walnuts, apples, and celery mixed with a curry mayonnaise and wrapped in a garlic pesto tortilla. The Pub’s famous Chicken Murphy Sandwich features a chicken breast sautéed with peppers, cherry peppers, and onions in a Veloute sauce topped with mozzarella and served on a warm club roll.
The Pub’s delicious Lunch Combo is still only $8.99. Served Monday to Friday, from 11am to 4pm, it includes a ½ sandwich with any soup or House or Caesar Salad. Choices for the ½ sandwich include the Portabella & Goat Cheese Grilled Sandwich, the Corned Beef Sandwich, the Shannon Rose Club, the BLT Sandwich, and the Oven-Roasted Turkey Sandwich.
