Solomon Schechter Honors Zehava Glisko & Debra Feiler for Volunteer Service

Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County honored AHAVA parents’ association presidents, Debra Feiler and Zehava Glisko Kaufman, with the 2013 the Hai (Life) Award in appreciation of their significant contributions as Schechter volunteers. Debra, a Rivervale Resident, is a member of Temple Emanuel of The Pascack Valley in Woodcliff Lake; Zehava, a resident of Closter, is a member of Lubavitch on the Palisades in Tenafly. Both were honored at Schechter's 39th Annual Community Celebration on April 28. The evening began with a cocktail reception, silent auction and raffle. It was followed by a seated dinner, toasts to the honorees, dancing, and a live-tweeted pledge drive led by more than 40 SSDS “twenty-something” alumni. The theme of the celebration was “Experience the Ultimate Schechter Moment,” capturing the rich academic, social, and spiritual education that challenge our 400 students to become creative, independent learners committed to both their Jewish and world communities.
