Westwood Resident Wins Friendly's "Build Your Own Burger" Contest

Alison May of Westwood stands with David “Rev” Ciancio the blog, Burger Conquest,  Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, Friendly’s franchisee Joseph Virano, President and CEO of J&B Restaurant Partners and Syke from WBLI at Friendly’s Burger Bash held on Sunday, June 9 at Friendly’s in Massapequa Park, New York. Alison’s “I Love NY Pastrami and Swiss Burger” was selected as the winner of Friendly’s “Build Your Own Burger” contest and she was awarded $100 to Friendly’s and the opportunity to have her burger served at the Hillsdale, NJ Friendly’s as a limited time menu offering. During the month of May, Friendly’s hosted an online “Build Your Own Burger” contest where fans of Friendly’s could submit their own burger creation for the chance to compete at the Burger Bash. Friendly’s chose the top three contestants to attend the Burger Bash in Massapequa Park, NY on June 9 and create their burgers on-site for a panel of local celebrity judges (David Ciancio, Ed Mangano and Syke), who taste-tested and rated each burger on presentation, taste and creativity to select the winner. Alison’s “I Love NY Pastrami and Swiss Burger”, which featured a beef patty on a brioche roll, Swiss cheese, pastrami, kosher dill pickles, lettuce, tomato and thousand island dressing,, was named the winner.
