Ars Musica Makes First Performance of 50th Concert Season

Ars Musica Chorale will perform "Fanfare" in Hillsdale, NJ on November 20 at 8:00 pm

Glorious choral music returns to the Pascack Valley when Ars Musica presents “Fanfare” at 8:00pm on Friday, November 20 at St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Valley Street, Hillsdale. John Rutter’s exuberant Gloria headlines an evening of music for choir and brass from the Renaissance to the twentieth century. Conducted by Music Director Dusty Francis, the program is the inaugural concert of Ars Musica’s 50th anniversary season.

Joining Ars Musica is the award-winning Adelphi Orchestra. “Fanfare” is the first partnership between Ars Musica and Adelphi: the next collaboration will be a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on June 3, 2016, hosted by St. John the Baptist, Hillsdale.

Ars Musica made its Pascack Valley debut in March when St. John’s hosted a concert of music by Bernstein and Kodály and appeared again in May with a program of music by Mozart culminating in his heartrending Requiem. Recognized as one of the most accomplished choruses in the area, Ars Musica has been lauded by Governor Christie as standing “at the forefront of efforts to preserve and promote the inspiring power of music for our residents.”
