Ars Musica Performs "Mozart's Splendid Finale"

Ars Musica Chorale closes out their 49th Season with a performance of “Mozart’s Splendid Finale” at St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Valley Street, Hillsdale NJ at 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 31!

Ars Musica is comprised of professional singers and dedicated amateurs, under the direction of Maestro Dusty Francis. The evening’s performance will adhere to the highest standards, as talented musicians uphold the heritage of greatness and beauty in choral music.

“Mozart’s Splendid Finale” is an exploration in music and letters of Mozart’s final year of life. In addition to the beloved “Requiem”, the audience will hear the exquisite “Ave Verum Corpus” as well as excerpts from “The Magic Flute,” the “String Quintet No. 5 in D major”, the “Horn Concerto No. 1 in D major”, and the “Clarinet Concerto in A major”. Multi-instrumentalist Susan LaFever will be both the solo hornist and the organist for the concerts. Ms. LaFever is a founding member of the Zinkali Trio and has been called “bold and striking” with “a confident lyric quality” by the New York Times. There will also be a 19-piece orchestra joining the chorale at this performance.

Pre-concert talk begins at 4:00 pm with Maestro Francis and Ms. LaFever. Following the performance (and at intermission) refreshments will be served. Cornerstone Restaurant & Bar, located on Broadway in Hillsdale, has partnered with Ars Musica and will offer 10% off the enitre bill, including drinks, for anyone attending (or participating in) the concert. Coupons will be available the day of the event.

Tickets for “Mozart’s Splendid Finale” are available at the pre-sale price of $20 per ticket by visiting www.arsmusica.org and will also be available for purchase at the door for $25 per ticket. Children 13 and under admitted free.
