Blue Acres Update on Westwood Council Meeting Agenda
Residents can also expect an update about the new hospital hearing

Members of the Westwood council are expected to hear an update about Blue Acres funding from the borough administrator during the meeting Tuesday night. Officials recently participated in a conference call on the subject of the funding, which can be used to purchase homes in flood prone areas so residents can move.
At the last council meeting, to ask for more information regarding the engineering study the governing body had approved. Some members also said they wanted answers about Blue Acres funding and how the borough could participate in the process.
According to Don MacLachlan, who is serving as the attorney for the flood solution group, members will appear before the council at the meeting Tuesday to get a status update about their requests.

Also on the agenda is an update about the hearing scheduled for Wednesday on Hackensack University Medical Center's application to open a new hospital in Westwood. Local officials are encouraging residents to attend the hearing to support HUMC's efforts to open a facility at the site of the former Pascack Valley Hospital.
An update about the Jefferson Avenue historic properties also appears on the agenda during the Historical Commission update.
