Newly crowned Bergen County Softball Champion opened up the New Jersey State tournament Tuesday hosting eighth seeded St. Dominic Academy. The Blue Eagles, coming in as the top seed, opened up strong. St. Dominic's shaky pitching allowed IHA to walk in seven runs in the first inning. The Blue Eagles continued the offensive supremacy adding eight more runs with the help of Abby Holmes who went 2-3 with two RBI. After five innings of play, the State Umpires implemented the mercy rule giving IHA the 15-1 victory. With the win, IHA moves onto the third round of the tournament to be played at home Friday.
