Coaches Game Raises Over $4,000 for Scholarship Fund

The Second Annual Westwood Softball Association's Charity Coaches Game, played on Saturday, June 11 at Westvale Park, raised more than $4,000, to benefit the Sunday Stankowitz Memorial  Scholarship Fund. This is more than five times the amount that was raised last year. Money came via coaches' donations, raffles of items donated by area merchants, sales of commemorative T-shirts and refreshment sales. A check will be presented to the Westwood Board of Education at an upcoming meeting, to be deposited in the fund. A final tally has not been set because donations continue to come in.
