DiCuffa 5/6 Battles Back For Tie

The DiCuffa 5/6 "Red Hots" battled back from two different four-run deficits and settled for a 10-10 tie against Washington Township in a game played at Westvale Park on Monday night, June 6.

Down 4-0 in the bottom of the first, the team responded with a double by Molly M, RBI triple by Taylor T and RBI singles by Sam L and Ally D to make it 4-3. Then Melanie S tied it at 4 with an RBI single in the second.

After Township plated four more in the third to make it 8-4, the Red Hots fought back with a run in their half of the third (Sam L drove in Isabel C) and four more in the fourth (RBIs from Martyne M, Mackenzie P, Kayla C and Melanie S) to take a 9-8 lead. Township came right back with two in the fifth to retake the lead 10-9, before Sam L drove home Hailey V with the tying (and final) run in the bottom half of the frame to make it 10-10.

Solid pitching from Sam L and Tina F contributed to comeback, as did nice defensive plays by Ally D, Kayla C, Sam L, Tina F, Taylor T, Mackenzie P, Kiki L, Ella R and Kristina L.

After 11 games, the Red Hots have a record of 5-5-1.
