Pampin 5/6 Team Up and Down... But Still Up

A roller coaster ride season continues for the Pampin 5/6 team. Just when it seems we're on a winning streak (two games in a row), we fall back and lose a heartbreaker. This team has provided exciting moments this year, with some solid hitting and defense, and lights out pitching. As a matter of fact, our pitching has been very strong as of late, with good outings game in and game out from Kaitlin K, Melissa O and Julia P. The games where we back up that strong pitching with confident, heads up (and gloves out!) fielding, we make outs and keep games close. Other times we seem to forget where to make the smart play and we give the opponent extra outs. Hitting has been up and down too - timely hits from Mel O, Shannon M, Jillian P, Gabby K and others, but in other games our bats stay on our shoulders while we seem intimidated by fast pitchers we're facing. Jilli amazes us at first base with at least one great defensive play per game, and Gabby keeps things light.

Give the girls credit - when we start off behind the eight-ball and spot the other team a few runs, we fight back and make it close. Losing a week to rainy weather didn't help us, and now we find ourselves withering in the heat. But the girls (and coaches) continue to have fun and we hope to finish the year strong and stay on a winning track.
