Play Ball! (Softball That Is!)

Overheard at a recent girls' softball game -

Coach: You're playing left field.

Player: Where's that?

Coach: Which hand is your left hand?

Player: (holding up her left hand)  This one...?

Coach: Walk in that direction and you'll be in left field.

The 2011 Westwood softball season is underway,  While some of us have to get our bearings straight(!), others are well on their way to a winning season.

The Westwood 3/4 team, nicknamed "The Green Machine" has started with a bang. In their first two games, players have gotten noticed by their coaches and their fans.

Josie N. has made some awesome plays in the field, and is swinging the bat very well. Sophie P. had a double play in game 1, while Hannah K. has impressed on the mound. Elena L. has collected three hits at the plate so far this season and Lauren B. has consistently been hitting the long ball. Izzy W., Ashley S. and Jaidyn C. are prepared for a break out game, while Amber B. and Gabby C. have shown all star ability with their all-around play and team-first enthusiasm. This "Grean Machine" team is for real!
