Relationship Gratitude: They Are Just Like You!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

You know when you're angry with your children, or they do something a little off, you sometimes think to yourself or tell your partner, "They are exactly like you."

Most of the time that statement is based on a characteristic of your partner you don't particularly like and you use the children to let him/her know about it. Did you ever think, those type of statements can often chip away at his/her self-esteem? The reason, because the anger and frustration you feel towards the children must reflect how you feel about him/her.

Think about what negative statements do you use towards the kids, that you indirectly equate with your partner?

For today's relationship gratitude challenge, let your partner know the positive characteristics that your children have that is based on him/her.

For example, "I love the fact that our child is so smart. He is just like you!"
