Timology - Overfed and Under Nourished
Despite our ranking as the most prosperous country in the world, Americans are overfed and under nourished.
Here's something that I find most interesting. Despite our ranking as the most prosperous country in the world, Americans are overfed and under nourished. From the corner grocery store to fast food restaurants, the ability to find cheap, plentiful food is endless.
Did you know that the McDonald's chain has 54,000 stores? Depending on your point of view, that's either amazing or scary. I choose the latter.
We are constantly enticed with messages to eat calorie-abundant, colorless, lifeless foods that offer little or no nutritional value. Eating foods loaded with fat and processed carbohydrates but lacking in vitamins and minerals does not contribute to a healthy body. Keep in mind that most of the foods that we consider convenient typically have little or no nutritional value.
