Monday the 9th marks our one-week "anniversary" since we moved into Westwood. The following morning, I headed downtown rather early, got a coffee and a paper, then sat outside the business and essentially watched the borough come alive over the next 60-90 minutes. Pretty neat.
I was wearing a T-shirt from my previous town. On the back it simply read "Clean Communities." As I was sipping and reading last Tuesday morning, a lady came up and made a comment about the back of the shirt. I don't know if she is a "regular" on that stretch of Westwood Avenue, but she was very talkative to pretty much everybody on the sidewalk whom she passed (or passed her).
Nothing dramatic about my first day in Westwood. But it was a bit on the unique side. Just to let you know, I went home to air conditioning before the baking heat from last week took hold that day. This week should be better (and I might try the same "adventure" on Monday to mark that anniversary.
