West Would - National/Local Prayer
A semi-regular look at Westwood activities and beyond

Normally, I offer my blog posts as a "quiet" member of the Westwood community. However, this time I am writing first as a member of the Westwood Area Clergy Council (yes, there is one) and second as the pastor of Westwood United Methodist Church.
This Thursday (May 2) is the National Day of Prayer. Whether or not you knew about this, well, you know it now. Prayer means different things to different people, including meaning little to nothing. Our religious/secular community is very diverse. I know this. I get it.
With this in mind, the churches/synagogues of the Westwood/Washington/Emerson communities have been asked to "ring their bells" (if they have them) at Noon on Thursday as a sign of unity that we serve One who is both above and beyond us as well as WITH us.

On that note, Westwood United Methodist Church (corner Kinderkamack Road & Bergen Street, 105 Fairview Ave for GPS) will have its sanctuary doors open from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm this Thursday. There is no formal program, just the opportunity -- no, the privilege -- to pray for whomever and whatever you choose.
All are welcome. End of sermon (for now).
