I'm back from vacation. Yeah, "so what" I know, I know. On the morning after the family's return, I took a walk around town (usually I jog, but, well, you know, it's right after vacation). During my walk, I noticed that the Veterans Memorial Park is undergoing some repair work. I had read, heard, and talked about this in advance of the construction, but now I've actually seen it.
It sounds like it's no big deal, but then again, it is as this area is one (not the only one, though) defining area of Westwood. It truly is "downtown" and a recognizable landmark of the borough. Whether substantial or cosmetic, it's nice to see this area remain attractive - not just to so-called outsiders, but to us "insiders" as well.
