Westwood Softball's 7th and 8th graders continue strong season

The 7th and 8th grade Westwood Softball team continues to dominate this season. Wednesday night, 5/30, they secured their 10th win playing away at Hillsdale's Memorial Field.  Being short-staffed, pitcher Julia P. had to come in on relief duty for 2 innings, after being sidelined due to a knee injury for weeks. She kicked the cobwebs off and got the job done in an exciting strikeout finish, with Westwood beating Hillsdale 13-11. Many girls came up with hits, just when they were needed. Great pop fly catches by Claire K and Delia D. were a big help too. Kudos to Kiki, who hung in there and played catcher for all 6 innings on a warm night. The team now boasts a record of 11-2 (including one forfeit) and coaches and parents couldn't be prouder of their hard work and determination.
