Continued Occupancy, Personnel Manual Ordinances on Township Council Agenda

The council meeting is scheduled to begin Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Members of the Washington Township council are expected to vote Monday night on the introduction of two ordinances.

The first is the certificate of continued occupancy ordinance, which was discussed at the last council meeting. The ordinance would set guidelines requiring inspections of homes when they change ownership to ensure they remain in compliance with code.

The second ordinance on the agenda would require council approval of a personnel manual. That topic has come up at several past meetings. At the last meeting Council President Fred Goetz said he wanted to institute an ordinance requiring a council vote since it currently is not mandatory. He said the council had not been notified after the latest version was put in place. At the last council meeting Mayor Janet Sobkowicz said she would not make further revisions without bringing it before the council.
