Damage Extensive to Kitchen at Iron Horse

No injuries in late-night fire at popular Westwood eatery

The fire that broke out in the caused extensive damage to the kitchen, according to Westwood Fire Chief Chris Kelley.

"I can't say for sure, but in my estimation, the kitchen is going to be completely renovated," Kelley told Patch on Sunday.

The exact cause of the fire, which began in the cooking area, has not yet been officially determined pending the fire official's report, Kelley said.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call by employees made at 12:31 a.m. There were no patrons in the building at the time, Kelley said.

"There were four or five employees and the owner [Lee Tremble] was notified right away," Kelley said. "No one was injured and the fire in the main part of the kitchen was pretty much contained in the first 10 or 12 minutes.

"We were there for a while, though, to make sure the fire hadn't gotten into the ceiling and the walls," Kelley said.
