Deputy Clerk Ordinance Up for Approval
The Washington Township council is scheduled to meet Monday night

Members of the Washington Township council are expected to vote Monday night on whether or not to adopt an ordinance that would make the position of deputy clerk full time.
The issue of hours for the deputy clerk position has been ongoing. Councilmen have said Diane Grimaldi needs to work additional hours to get necessary work done for the clerk's office, but Mayor Janet Sobkowicz has been hesitant to add hours because Grimaldi also works part time as the township Planning and Zoning Board secretary and Sobkowicz doesn't want her to be eligible for benefits because it would cost the township money.
Also on the agenda is the introduction of a Certificate of Continued Occupancy (CCO) ordinance. Members of the governing body have discussed the topic of a CCO at several council meetings, saying a measure would protect residents because it ensures that homes remain up to code when they change ownership.
