Election Day Voting Guide
Find out where you can vote in Tuesday's general election

Tuesday is election day and residents can head to the polls to cast their votes for local, county and state officials. Polling locations are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for registered voters to cast their ballots.
In Washington Township, voters in districts 1, 3 and 5 will cast their ballots in the All Purpose Room of , 1 Palm St. Those in districts 2, 4 and 6 will head to the All Purpose Room of , 600 School St.
The council election in the township is uncontested, with Republicans Glenn Beckmeyer, Steve Cascio and Richard Hrbek running to retain their seats.

Westwood has four polling locations for its registered voters. District 1 residents will vote in the Arts & Crafts Room of , 100 Madison Ave. Those in districts 2, 4 and 6 will head to the All Purpose Room of the , 55 Jefferson Ave. Districts 3 and 8 will vote in the library of , 20 Lake Drive. Those in districts 5 and 7 will vote in Classroom 24 of , 23 Third Ave.
At the local level, Westwood voters will choose from three mayoral candidates: current Mayor John Birkner Jr., a Democrat; current Council President Robert Miller, a Republican; and former Mayor Thomas Wanner, an Independent. Four candidates are vying for two open council seats: Republican incumbents John J. Sciara and Cynthia Waneck and Democratic challengers Philip Cerruti and David Fischer.

Voters in both the borough and the township will choose two members for the Board of Chosen Freeholders from five candidates: Democrats David Ganz and Joan Voss, Republicans Joel Brizzi and Anthony W. Rottino and Independent Edward M. Brunner.
For the position of Surrogate, voters will choose between incumbent Democrat Michael R. Dressler and Republican challenger Andrew Cimiluca.
Voters will choose the County Clerk from Democrat John S. Hogan and Republican Elizabeth Randall.
In the race for General Assembly, there are five candidates running for two seats: Republican incumbent Robert Schroeder, Republican Holly Schepisi (who took the place of Charlotte Vandervalk after she decided not to run again), Democrats Anthony N. Iannarelli Jr. and Michael J. McCarthy and Independent Clinton Bosca.
For the position of State Senate in District 39, Westwood and Washington Townshp voters will choose between Republican incumbent Gerald Cardinale and Democratic challenger Lorraine M. Waldes.
There is also a public question on the ballot asking voters if they would approve legalizing bets on certain sports events at casinos, racetracks and former racetrack sites. Right now, that type of betting is limited to Nevada and Delaware. If legalized in New Jersey, people could place bets on professional, college or amateur sports or athletic events, except those that take place in New Jersey or when a New Jersey college team is playing.
