Election Guide: Legislative District 39

Democrats Jeffrey Goldsmith and John DeRienzo will try and unseat Republicans Holly Schepisi and Robert Auth to represent the 39th Legislative District in the state Assembly.

Auth, a teacher, was first elected to the Assembly last year and serves on the Financial Institutions and Insurance and the State and Local Government committees.

Schepisi, an attorney, was first elected in 2012. She serves on the following committees: Homeland Security and State Preparedness, Judiciary, and the Legislative Select Committee on Investigation.

According to Goldsmith and Derienzo, the 39th District sends “more tax dollars to Trenton than any other, yet get the fewest back in return.”

Goldsmith is mayor of Woodcliff Lake and DeRienzo is the former mayor of Haworth.
