A VERY SPECIAL EVENING AT THE GARAGE
On May 13 at 8:00pm The Garage Theatre Group will present a staged reading of Edward Albee's At Home At The Zoo featuring Michael Bias, Vincent Sagona and Sarah Koestner. At Home At He Zoo is the 2009 full length version of one of America's most iconic plays, The Zoo Story. In 2009 master playwright Edward Albee wrote a prequel to this classic. The first act, Home Life contains the events in Peter's life immediately preceding his encounter with Jerry on the park bench and is every bit as powerful as the original. We meet Ann, Peter's wife, and see the conversation that compelled Peter to go for that fateful walk in the park.
The Zoo Story has a very special place in the history of The Garage. Artistic Director, Michael Bias, toured Germany with this play. After each performance the cast would have a talk back with the audience. Upon returning to the U.S. Mr. Bias founded The Garage based on this concept. He has performed in The Zoo Story in three productions. He will be reprising his part as Jerry in this special one night event. Joining him will be Garage veterans Vincent Sagona (One Good Marriage, Doubt, The Night Reginald Filbert Called It Quits) as Peter and Sarah Koestner (The Maids, Doubt, One Good Marriage, The Night Reginald Filbert Called It Quits) as Ann. At Home At The Zoo will be directed by Thom Molyneaux
