Bucky Pizzarelli, Lou Pallo and Les Paul’s Trio will perform at the Les Paul 98th Birthday Gala on June 8, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. The Gala, hosted by The Mahwah Museum Society, will be held at the Trustee’s Pavilion at Ramapo College, 505 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at www.mahwahmuseum.org , at the Mahwah Museum or at the door. Proceeds from the Gala will benefit the Museum.
The Gala will celebrate what would have been the 98th birthday of legendary musician and inventor Les Paul. Guests will enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvre, light fare and birthday cake. There will be live and silent auctions of many autographed guitars, rare posters and other music memorabilia. The winning tickets of a raffle of two guitars; an Epiphone Standard Royal, autographed by Bucky Pizzarelli, Lou Pallo with a Les Paul autographed pick guard; and an Epiphone Les Paul Studio, autographed by Lou Pallo, Peter Frampton, Al Caiola and Peter Townsend, will be drawn at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets for the Gala are $30. Tickets for the raffle are $25 and can be purchased at the Museum or at the Gala. The exhibit “Les Paul in Mahwah: A Tribute” will run until June 30; also at the Museum are the exhibits “Nike Missile Base in Mahwah: Nuclear Warheads in Our Backyards” and “Homespun History: Quilts Coverlets and Fabric Arts.” The Donald Cooper Railroad is open weekends from 1-5 p.m. until June 30, and the Old Station and Caboose, 1871 Old Station Lane, is open on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. until October.
