Grooming a Koopa(Dog)

Adventure in Cleanliness

As a visitor to the area, I have started a search. Online of course! To find a groomer to beautify my pooch.

Where to start? Yelp! was my first stop. Though to my absolute disappointment there were not a lot of groomers nearby according to their database. I called them all - more or less - to price out the options and check availability.

Some I eliminated right away due to time frame.
Westwood Pets looked like a good option, but they said September.
The Grooming Table in Hillsdale was July 29th, not a great $$ either

Some others were a date too far in the future or a price too high for an 11lb poodle mix. This price to me is anything over $50 that was not all inclusive.
Handsome Hound in Emerson, Reigning Cats and Dogs in Hillsdale, and a few others.

Next I tried a different search and found listings on Businessfinder.nj.com had great results.
My first attempt from there did not pick up. The second, Gentle Grooming Cottage had me on the date, price, and the blueberry facial. Which I was hoping was for me while Bowser got his pampering, but is in fact for the dog! I decided that was a must see and so I am headed in this Saturday to report back on our doggy spa day.

Now all you pet owners, where are you taking your dogs and how far ahead do you need appointments?

Looking forward to any comments or words of advice about how you found your dog stylist. Where did you search? Who did you ask?
To all the Dog Groomers in the area? You might want to do something about your online visibility. :)
