THE GYM of Montvale Raises Money for Disabled Veterans

Supporting local charities and giving back to Veterans with a fundraising event on Veterans Day.

After achieving success from fundraising events in 2014, THE GYM will once again be hosting fundraising initiatives to support our troops and raise money to help disabled veterans.

Last November THE GYM raised $12,000 by hosting a series of fundraising events for Homes For Veterans. The money was used to make urgently needed repairs to the Newark, New Jersey home of Sergeant James Bellamy. Homes For Veterans engaged a contractor who completed a $16,450 renovation of Sgt. Bellamy’s front porch, stabilizing the structure and augmenting the installation of a mechanized wheelchair lift that was installed by the Veteran’s Administration.

THE GYM was gratified to be able to assist with the renovations to Sgt. Bellamy’s house and looks forward to another successful fundraising effort this Veterans Day. “It was so nice to see what our fundraising events were able to do for Sgt. Bellamy, and we really look forward to helping another veteran through this year’s efforts,” said Lisa Bruchalski, Group Fitness Director at THE GYM of Montvale.

THE GYM of Montvale will be hosting a push-up contest on Veteran’s Day, where trainers and members can have people sponsor them per push-up. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. Proceeds from the event will once again be donated to Homes For Veterans.

Doug DiPaola, Founder of Homes For Veterans shares how much THE GYM’s efforts mean to the charity: “It’s heartwarming to know how much the employees and members of THE GYM care for our troops, and show how much they appreciate the troops that have served our country, such as Sgt. Bellamy.”

THE GYM will also be selling camouflage t-shirts throughout the entire month of November. Net proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will also be donated to Homes for Veterans.

THE GYM recognizes the importance of giving back to those who protected and served our country with honor. They are committed to helping out charities such as Homes For Veterans and other local causes. THE GYM encourages you to “muscle up” for our Veterans and support our troops this November.
