IHA Teacher Had Sexual Relations With Wood-Ridge Student, Prosecutor Says

Jillian Clementi allegedly performed sexual activities with a male student from Wood-Ridge High School.

Wood-Ridge High School girls' softball coach Jillian Clementi engaged in improper sexual relations with a male student from the school, authorities charged Wednesday.

Clementi, 28, who is a full-time teacher at in Washington Township, was charged with second degree sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said in a release.

The release did not detail if the alleged "sexual activities" occured more than once, nor did it characterize their nature.

The student was a junior in Wood-Ridge when the alleged encounter or encounters happened at Clementi's former home in Lyndhurst, police said.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit. Clementi was released on $50,000 bail pending her court appearance.
