Jewish Cultural School Sunday Children's Program Starts Today!

Looking for a modern take on an historic culture in a warm, welcoming atmosphere? Sunday classes for student in grades 2-7 begin Sept. 15 at the Jewish Cultural School & Society (JCSS)--a “secular synagogue” rooted in secular humanistic Judaism serving Essex, Union, Morris, Passaic and Bergen counties:

  • The "Pre-Alef" class (1st and 2nd graders) meets twice monthly.
  • Older grades move each Sunday to different teachers and subjects: history, literature, conversational Hebrew, and cultural arts.
  • The "Hey" class (grades 7-8) year culminates in a graduation/B’nai Mitzvah ceremony.

All grades also participate, along with JCSS member families and friends, in a variety of holiday celebrations throughout the school year. And our monthly Adult Education programs mean something for everyone!

Sunday, Sept. 15, 9:30 a.m. - noon
