Local Female Police Officers are Raising Money for Breast Cancer Research

Township Police Officer Heather Castronova will lead the team

Team Ladies in Blue Fighting in Pink will help save lives from breast cancer and create a world with more birthdays on Sunday by participating in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®. The 5K non-competitive walk will take place at the new Overpeck Park in Ridgefield Park to honor breast cancer survivors, educate people about breast cancer prevention and early detection and show that with the American Cancer Society, you get more pink for your green.

Police Officer Heather Castronova of the , the team leader for Ladies in Blue Fighting in Pink, compiled a team of female officers throughout New Jersey. Not only is this team all female law enforcement officers, but two of these ladies are breast cancer survivors.

More pink means 2.5 million breast cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday this year. That’s why Ladies in Blue Fighting in Pink has made the commitment to join the American Cancer Society in creating a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness
Month. Together, they will raise a little green for the American Cancer Society so we can see a world where more pink means more lives saved.

More pink means free rides to and from treatment for cancer patients needing a lift. More pink means the next big breast cancer research breakthrough.

Join the American Cancer Society in the fight against breast cancer, because more pink means 2.5 million breast cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday this year.

Registration for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer begins at 9 a.m. Sunday at the new Overpeck Park, Ridgefield Park. The walk begins at 10 a.m.
